Life bg (before greenhouse) was bleak. Looking out from the backdoor the visitor would have seen the equivalent size of hut and consequently would not be able to see any of the surrounding walls. The hut was also closer to the right hand wall and it was not possible to walk down the side of it. It's a real treat now, being able to see all the way to the rear wall and walk down the side of the greenhouse to maintain it.
It's also a blessing to be able to come down in the morning and make a cup of tea while looking out of the kitchen window at a more attractive and rewarding sight other than a forty year old wooden hut.
You can see the wooden staging that I also purchased. Very solid. Can't wait to get growing. Trouble is the winter daylight hours means that I only have the weekend to work in it and other things like domestic life, shopping, having other fun such as ceilidhs and the major refurbishment of the back room, not to mention the little point about running an allotment plot - all converge together in one conspiracy to prevent horticultural greenhouse progress.

oooooooh - I want one!!!
Gnome, that is one fabulous greenhouse! You've stiffened my resolve to get one myself.
Good idea Frankie, it would save you a lot of money buying those avocados if you could grow your own.
Woody, resolution is one thing, money is the other. You might also want to hire me as a construction consultant. Alhough it might be expensive what with it taking me four weekends to build the blighter.
I have a strikingly similar greenhouse coming on nov 27th and am even more excited now I've seen yours!
Mine's an AGL Popular package with toughened glass and auto louvres etc. They have sent some pre-instructions to the instructions which is worrying me slightly!
Should I employ a fitter?
Oh and which staging did you go for? There are so many available!
Best of luck with it.
Kind regards
Chris
OK Chris. Just call me Bob the Builder and I'll come and construct for you. You will need me for four weekends, so that will require two nights each week in one of Lincolns best hotels. Better and cheaper still, drop me an email and I shall give you all the lowdown on greenhouse construction and how I might have done things differently if I could start all over again.
Light up the garden and garden at night ...since I am often bucket watering after 7pm due to the garden watering restrictions I do a little bit of gardening in the dark. I also prepare seedtrays in the kitchen, on plastic trays...but don't water them until I set them outside in the morning. Conventional gardening sometimes doesn't work.
Love the greenhouse, my seed trays just sit on plastic sheets outside, a shadehouse would help.
thank you nice sharing
