Gnome is possibly not unlike other bloggers who will visit and link to many other sites but have a handful that they regularly visit because they become like virtual companions. Certainly better than the column writers in newspapers who regularly have a feature but who you pick and chose to read on a regular basis. So when things happen, such as someone leaves blogland or another joins, or another changes their makeup, it generates a bit more excitement at the computer. OK, excitement is a bit extreme to describe this sort of thing on the internet, but it does keep you alert and encourages you to check the sites out on a regular basis.
Having scoured his handful of regular sites Gnome has come up with these noteable changes for your attention and has also decided to offer one of his occasional awards for excellence.
- Allotment 21 has changed its name to Veg Plot. Apparently, because of a house move, Frankie and her co-allotmenteers have given up the plot and she is starting afresh with some good intentions for the new year.
- Mildew - the allotment of horrors - has changed her format and has a spruced up appearance which on first appearances might require a lot of clicking to get to postings
- My Tiny Plot has not changed but still maintains a standard that is positive, bright and cheery - her ten top tips on the "About" page are certainly more endearing than Gnome's from last year.
- However, Gnomes occasional award for excellence has to go to Pumpkin Soup. The Gallant Nomination Of Maximum Excellence is awarded for P'Soupers graphically stimulating makeover. It did seem to take a while in the making but it was worth the wait.
- Meanwhile, Eats, Shoots and Leaves gave the impression that Jooles had Drunk, Shot and Left after drinking too much of her sloe gin between her last blogposting in November 06 and her resolve to do better in January 07.
- But if you want rock and roll, you have to go to Welsh Girls Allotment where you are serenaded as you visit her plot. She seems to have worked incredibly hard since starting out in January last year and Gnome particularly likes her raspberry and sweet pea tunnel.
